WAVERLY, NY (607NewsNow) — A Waverly man is accused of exploiting a child.

The U.S. Attorney’s office says Tristan Kovacs uploaded an image of himself with a 9-year-old girl in April to a pornographic website, which reported him to authorities. The 21-year-old was charged Thursday with sexual exploitation of a child and transportation of child pornography.

“The defendant’s conduct as alleged in the complaint is despicable. Not only is the defendant alleged to have sexually exploited a child, but he also appears to have sought to profit from it. My office is committed to doing whatever is in our power to ensure this defendant never has the opportunity to harm another child,” Acting US Attorney John Sarcone III said.

If convicted, Kovacs faces up to 50 years in federal prison on the two charges.

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary."
