ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Preparation continues for Tompkins County’s next jail leader.
Captain Lauran Harrison has been training for several months. She’s replacing current jail leader Ray Bunce, who’s retiring in November.
Sheriff Derek Osborne said he’s proud of the corrections staff.
“I couldn’t ask for a better captain than Ray, and a better replacement to take over for him than Lauran,” he said.
Osborne adds Harrison shows “a lot of promise.” She previously served as a lieutenant for the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
