CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — An argument in Cortland between two people ended with one arrest.

Police say Louise Mudge refused orders from officers Friday, Sept. 4 to leave an Arthur Ave. home, and was refusing commands to leave the victim’s bedroom.

“During the interaction, the suspect made threatening statements toward an officer. Officers observed a folding knife within the suspect’s reach. The suspect subsequently picked up the knife and advanced toward an officer. The officer drew their firearm and repeatedly ordered the suspect to drop the knife. A second officer also drew their Taser and issued commands to the suspect,” according to a statement from the Cortland Police Department.

Mudge eventually dropped the knife, police said, but resisted efforts to put handcuffs on her.

The 43-year-old was charged with felony possession of a weapon and menacing a police officer, plus harassment and resisting arrest.
