(607NewsNow) — Our pets of the week start with Gretta (Top L) and Moses (Top R) from CNY Snap.

Gretta is about 1 year old and is a very sweet, affectionate cat. She thoroughly enjoys pets and wants to be around people. In spite of her young age, Gretta had a litter of four kittens, all of which passed away. She has not been truly taken care of yet, so she deserves a forever home that will give her lots of love. She has been spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Moses is about 3 to 5 years old and is a gentle giant. He has a very calm demeanor and seems to be generally unbothered by any chaos or commotion in the shelter. He is sweet and quiet, despite having come from living among a colony of cats on the streets of Syracuse. Moses has been neutered, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Next, we have Penny (Bottom L) and Rubble (Bottom R) from the Cortland County SPCA. Penny is about 2.5 years old and is sweet and loves to cuddle up with people. She is very affectionate, her favorite time of the day being when she can be close to her people. She is easy-going and loves to meet new people, making her a friendly companion.

Rubble is a sweet senior dog who has plenty of energy despite being 7 years old. He’s always ready for a game of fetch and is extremely friendly, making new friends anywhere he goes. He does struggle with separation anxiety and prefers not to be alone for prolonged periods, so someone with a more flexible schedule where they can spend lots of quality time with him would be ideal. Rubble will make a loyal companion to anyone who chooses him.

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
