OWEGO, NY (607NewsNow) – A business in Owego aims to open this summer.

According to town officials, Tractor Supply, located on State Route 434, has seen multiple delays due to a lack of a reliable water connection.

Town Supervisor Gary Hellmers tells the Morning Times the store was originally scheduled to open by Thanksgiving and adds Veolia Water New York has raised engineering concerns about the original plan. Officials with Veolia say it poses hydraulic issues that would have affected the integrity of the system, instead suggesting installing water service through the public right-of-way on Route 434.

Hellmers says the town is exploring “doing our own thing,” and hopes to resolve the issue in the coming months.
