NEWFIELD, NY (607NewsNow) — The Newfield Central School District has named a new athletics director.
Superintendent Jesse Harper tells 607 News Now the Board of Education chose Ian Valentine, who’s already a familiar face to families and students in the district.
“Ian Valentine is the Dean of Students in the middle school and high school — and our football coach. He’s coached baseball before,” Harper said.
Valentine will bring his experience as a coach into the position, Harper added.
“He has a great coaching philosophy; he knows our players, he knows our coaches, so it should be an easy transition,” the superintendent said.
Valentine’s role as AD begins Sunday, Nov. 1.
