‘Loaded’ and ‘unsecured’ gun found during Homer traffic stop

HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) — A Cincinnatus man and a Cortland woman face several charges following a traffic stop in Homer.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says 38-year-old Trevor Major was pulled over on Sunday, March 1 shortly before 9 p.m. at a gas station on S. West St. Major was driving on a suspended license and had a controlled substance, deputies said.

According to the report, a “loaded, unsecure handgun” was also found in the vehicle. Major and his passenger, 41-year-old Regina Fiaschetti, have both been charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree and criminal possession of a firearm, which are felonies.

Deputies say Major and Fiaschetti both had court dates in Homer on Tuesday, March 3.
