ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – An antitrust lawsuit against Cornell has been dismissed.

The Cornell Daily Sun reports a federal judge dismissed the lawsuit on September 25 in Illinois.

The suit was filed last October by class of ’21 graduate Eileen Chang and Boston U. student Maxwell Hanse. It alleges Cornell and 39 other private colleges violated the Sherman Antitrust Act by using the College Board’s College Scholarship Service Profile to develop a student aid calculation policy that requires non-custodial parents to submit financial information. It’s called the Noncustodial Parent Agreed Pricing Strategy.

The complaint claims it increased the net cost of attendance for students by about $6,200 annually.

In the dismissal, the judge says nothing in the suit suggests the schools shared any information.
