ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Tomorrow, August 27th from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Chris Allinger is hosting one of his last live radio shows at Kelly’s Dockside Cafe.

Having hosted his first morning show 35 years ago at Kelly’s, Chris will take it back to the place it all started – in his pajamas. Closing at the end of October, Kelly’s has been a staple in Ithaca for decades.

Known for his world-famous omelets made with fresh ingredients, owner Albert Kelly does the cooking and is there every day of the week. Having built the place himself in 1974, he’s an encyclopedia on the West End of Ithaca and has bought various other properties and businesses around the cafe over the span of time.

A dive bar in addition to a cafe, a lot of his business has also come from hosting school parties for those who have graduated from places like Ithaca College and Cornell University. If you stopped by when he owned a paddle wheel boat to hold celebrations on, you know how much excitement has come from going to Kelly’s throughout the years.

A celebration of the careers of both Chris Allinger and Albert Kelly, tomorrow’s Pajamarama will include delicious breakfast food, prizes, and pajama-wearing for those who choose to. Visit the Q-Country website here for more information.

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
