DRYDEN, NY (607NewsNow) – The Finger Lakes Land Trust (FLLT) is celebrating accessibility.

On May 8, the Ithaca-based conservation group officially recognized the new north entrance and improvements at the Roy H. Park Preserve in Dryden with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

That section of the popular hiking trail closed last summer for upgrade work, which included ADA-compliant paths and parking, as well as improved access to the adjacent Hammond Hill State Forest.

The project received funding from the Tompkins County Tourism Capital Grant Program, the New York State Conservation Partnership Program, a collaboration between the Land Trust Alliance and the DEC, and gifts from individual donors.

The north entrance reopened to the public in late November.
