Cortland man accused of sex crimes in 2013

CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cortland man is accused of sex crimes dating back over a decade.

On August 28, 35-year-old Jamie Burleigh was arrested after an investigation into alleged abuse that occurred in the fall of 2013. The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office received allegations of abuse in August 2025.

According to the complaint, Burleigh subjected one victim, who was known to him, to inappropriate sexual contact in Cortlandville between September and October that year.

Burleigh is charged with sexual abuse, criminal sexual act, and predatory sexual assault against a child, all felonies.  He was remanded to Cortland County Jail without bail. Burleigh will appear in Taylor Town Court on September 8 at 11 a.m.
