CINCINNATUS, NY (607NewsNow) — A resolution about NYSEG has passed in Cincinnatus.

The town board approved a bill Tuesday, Feb. 10 that calls on the Public Service Commission to review delivery rates, which are steadily rising.

“This resolution calls on the New York State Public Service Commission to investigate these escalating charges, require real cost controls, and protect rural communities like ours from being unfairly burdened,” town officials said in a statement.

“Rubber‑stamping rate increases without explanation will no longer be tolerated. Cincinnatus is demanding answers, accountability, and fairness. And we’re not stopping here. We are calling on communities across New York — small or large — to join this fight. No town should stand alone in defending its residents from unjustified utility costs,” officials said.

Last year, NYSEG requested a double-digit rate hike.
