OWEGO, N.Y. (WHCU) — Leaders in Owego are looking to revitalize the village.

One idea was to build a performance pad at Draper Park, but officials voted against that option. Trustee Laura Spencer says money is the main issue.

“Unless we were going to be giving several thousand dollars a year for something there, I just don’t see who’s organizing concerts and events for us, and where the money is coming from for that,” she says.

The pad would’ve been a $60,000 project. Officials are considering other possibilities.
