Osborne, Van Houten open to creating crime data dashboard

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Tompkins County legislators are pushing for more data from law enforcement agencies. It’s part of the Reimagining Public Safety initiative.

Sheriff Derek Osborne is open to it. 

Osborne tells us his office is now working on creating transparent data. Meanwhile, Tompkins County District Attorney Matt Van Houten says his office is ‘close’ to releasing public data. He tells WHCU it would include a lot of information.

Last year, the Ithaca Police Department introduced a data dashboard on their website.
