ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Two local elected officials are calling on Governor Hochul to sign a bill.

Assemblymember Anna Kelles and State Senator Lea Webb appealed Sunday for Hochul to pen her name to legislation which would save Ithaca Carshare from closing permanently.

In June, the New York State Legislature approved a bill to allow out-of-state insurers to provide coverage for in-state non-profit groups. Ithaca Carshare paused operations in May.
