ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Several members of the Ithaca Common Council want to see a larger financial contribution from Cornell.

Alderperson Robert Cantelmo says negotiators at the university have been tough.

Cantelmo, who’s the Democratic candidate for mayor of Ithaca, also says there’s a lot about the deal that is not desirable.

Despite their concerns, Cantelmo expects the Common Council will approve the MOU during a special meeting on Wednesday.
