Cayuga Sound Festival: What You Need To Know

Here’s what you need to know about the Festival:

  • It’s called “Cayuga Sound: A Festival For the City of Ithaca
  • It takes place Saturday, September 23rd from noon till 10 PM
  • Tickets are $59.50 each. (VIP tickets are sold out). Under 5 are free.
  • It’s hosted by The X Ambassadors, a national group with ties to Ithaca
  • It’s headlined by The Roots.
  • Also on the bill: Tei Shi, K. Flay, Savoir Adore, The Knocks, Crush Club, Sammus, Margaret Glaspy, Jukebox the Ghost, Izzy True, Stone Cold Miracle and Imperials.
  • The X Ambassadors are appearing for free.
  • The event will raise money for 12 local organizations.  Among them:  GIAC, The Ithaca Youth Bureau, CSMA and Vitamin L
  • On Friday, The Cayuga Sound Talk Series will feature two panel discussions at the Ithaca Marriot Downtown.
  • At 10:30 a.m., “Live Music and Its Impact on the World”, and at noon, “From Ithaca to the Billboard Charts – The X Ambassadors Story”
  • Admission to the talks will be a valid Festival ticket or student ID – first-come-first-served.
  • Friday night, local clubs are featuring a mix of acts. VIP tickets receive free admission or you can buy them at the door.
  • On Saturday, Stewart Park will be closed to traffic.
  • People are encouraged to walk, bike or ride the bus to Stewart Park.
  • TCAT buses will be running to the entrance to the festival. A line of buses will pick up attendees at the end of the show.
  • You are encouraged to park downtown and ride the bus or ride from Ithaca High School.
  • You may not bring in pets, outside food or drink, alcohol or coolers.
  • Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
